In context of changing my name

Dear Sir/Madam
I am a Bangladeshi citizen, currently doing PhD in USA.
I do have only one name (viz. FAKHRUDDIN) in all of my certificates, passport, Visa. But in USA, all documents
require two names(First name and Last name)to be filled up. So far i have filled up my first name with FNU(FIRST NAME UNKNOWN)abbreviation. But i would like to change it. I like to add a first name to my existing name. For this what do i need to do? Will I have to change all my certificates, Passport for the changed name once i change it by affidavit? Or can i just keep the legal document of Affidavit and show it to anyone asking about my name's inconsistency?

    Dear

To add a part  of name you need an affidavit notarized by first class magistrate and after getting affidavit an add of such change in a newspaper. With this documents you have to apply for changing names in certificates. For changing name in passport you have to apply to the passport office with the same documents.

Do not hesitate for further assistance.
