Dear Madam,
With due respect to you that, recently we have seen that maximum dowry cases are false. Most of girls are likely to make harassment men by this dowry case, so according to this subject isn't there any punishment in our law for misuse of this case ? if has then would you pls. tell us the details about the process how to give punishment to those girls whose are misusing this dowry case?
Your cooperation will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Best regards

You can file a GD for protection when your wife has threaten you to file a dowry case against you. When your wife already filed a case then there is only scope to fight the case and if you can prove she filed false case then you can file another case against your wife for filing false and harassment case.
Thanks.

Dear Newton
There is Section-211 of the Penal Code under which you have to file the case which tells:
“False charge of offence made with intent to injure: Whoever, with intent to cause injury to any person, institutes or causes to be instituted any criminal proceeding against that person, or falsely charges any person with having committed an offence, knowing that there is no just or lawful ground for such proceeding or charge against that person, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both;
and if such criminal proceeding be instituted on a false charge of an offence punishable with death, imprisonment for life, or imprisonment for seven years or upwards, shall be punishable with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine. “

Dear Madam,
My in laws have filed a false 304b case on me and now asking money for compromise and settlement. If I give them money and compromise they will come to court and say that I have not demanded dowry and I will be acquitted.
after acquitting can I file case against them for false dowry death case?
As they would have changed the stance in court will my case stands against them for mere false complaint lodged by them on me?
