I asked a lawyer in chittagong for the procedures for marriage in court. My fiance is coming all the way from Tunisia for marriage here. I have all the legal documents and I have been asking around for information and this so called lawyer wants to rip me of my money and cheat me. My question is:
- what procedures will I face in court?
- what will be the fees that I will need to pay to the legal authority of court? And what are they?
- Does my Tunisian fiancee need another documents other than the following:
I) Birth Certificate.
II) Unmarried Certificate.
III) Passport.
IV) Educational Certificates.
V) Photos.
VI) NOC for marriage from brides father.
I will be married in chittagong court. Please advice meas percourts here because some people are trying to cheat me.

Dear
If you both are muslim then just contact to a kazi near your area. and if you are from different religion but want to get married without changing religion then contact to special marriage registrar who will help you to get married under special marriage act. All the documents you have are okay and get two male witenesses while you will register the marriage.
When you contact to a lawyer definitely he/she will arrange the whole procedure and you must have to pay for his/her fees that can be high or low and government fees are always low but you still have to pay some extra money. So if you want to cut the expenses of lawyer by contacting registrars directly but still you have to pay some extra money than the original fees. And govt. fees are depended on dower money in case of muslim marriage. And in case of special marriage you have to pay approximately 5000-7000BDT.
Thanks.
